“Building a Movement”

The Engineers Without Borders National Conference serves as one of the organization's most important national events each year. The 2009 National Conference saw nearly 700 students, professionals and guests converge in the Greater Toronto Area for this exciting, engaging event on January 21 - 24, 2009.

Collaborating more than four days, these talented leaders not only cooperated on pertinent development issues, but also helped to foster and build the next generation of great Canadian social entrepreneurs who will lead the engineering profession. Speakers, panelists and workshops informed and engaged the next generation of Canadian leaders on diverse development issues. The Massive Outreach Event put our 700-strong delegate body to use in a creative, large-scale outreach initiative that is educational for both delegates and the public.

Collaboration Day brought together more than 100 professionals for a focused day that explores how professional engineers can become more effectively involved in development. The Gala Banquet and Keynote Address closed the event with a formal celebration of the organization, its members and its work.
